Low Price Stock Trading – massive activity – question?

OTC Penny Stocks
Just Curious asked:

I’m searching for the reason or logic that is behind recent trading activity I’m witnessing. XXX, trades as a OTC penny stock. I have shares that I bought through my regular brokerage account, just as anybody can. XXX is trading at massively high trading volumes now for months, with little to no change in share price. Typical every day volume 333,281,908 shares. Several days with nicely over a billion shares traded. XXX’s web site states that there are 10 bil shares outstanding. One last reality, the stock price has plummeted over these months. At .0001 per share during the massive volume period. My question is: How, with only 10 billion shares outstanding, can XXX be so actively traded at this volume and why would XXX sit at the same price and trade billions of shares, when all press and reports about the company are positive?

My take is that somebody is deliberately swapping shares, huge chunks at a time, at ridiculously low prices to keep the stock price down? Why go to the expense?

Penny Stock – How to Avoid Losing My Shirt?

OTC Penny Stocks
Rushed60 asked:

Ok, so as a new investor I created the typical big mistake of investing in a penny stock on the OTC marketplace. I had purchased a couple hundred dollars of the stock a couple of weeks back (.18 cents) and at some point it had gone up but I decided to hold it. Then two days ago the stock fell to just above it’s all time low of .10 cents. The stock had been performing consistently above the low for awhile and the news was great so I decided to buy more. A lot more. More than I can afford to shed. Now the last two days the stock has fallen 20% below what I purchased at even though all the news reports on the company are great! I do not know why it is falling and I cannot sell what I have. What are my options? Can I sell even at 50% of the current cost? How can I discover buyers? Or am I screwed??
Well I’m not going to disclose the ticker for obvious reasons (Ask me after I’ve sold). But my question is whether I should maintain lowering my sell cost until it sells? How can I recover as much as my cash as feasible?

How low can a stock price go? I own an issue that’s at 0.0004. How many decimal place does the OTC sys allow?

OTC Penny Stocks
KaseyMoe asked:

These sub-penny, penny stocks get to some vanishingly little share prices. When does the exchange or the marketplace makers give it up and halt trading. Who finally pulls the plug?
Yes, of course zero. I meant and should have stated: “How low this side of bankruptcy, delisting and worthless can a stock go prior to it is kaput?”

Sorry, didn’t make that clear – I do wonder how numerous decimal places are allowed by the trading system. Appears like .0004 is getting awfully close to the limit.

The problem in question is IPKL but there are other people – lots.
