I’m searching for an on-line tool/portal that would calculate the present day value of a portfolio based on a list of stocks in which I enter the historical trade date and the holdings and value are updated based on the splits, spin-offs and cash distributions. As an example, if I purchased 100 shares of AT&T on a specific day in 1996, what would be my present holdings and present day value taking into account the splits, spin-offs and cash distributions. Note some stocks/businesses may no longer exist, so the tool should be able to account for that.

Are there any online stock portfolio tracking sites that automaticaly account for splits and spinoffs?

Finding your stocks?
Okay so let me give you the breif. My parents take intrestant in me wanting to comprehend and turn out to be efficent with stock trading. By performing so they are going to pay the 10$ a month that permits me to use Etrade per month. So i can understand how to use all the tools and graphs.
The thing is i want to know how do i find stocks that i want to invest in? Is there a tool you use that helps you find stocks that have possiable probabilities of spiking up or down? That inform you that a stock your looking for is avaiable?
So fairly a lot is there a list i can appear at that gives me stock names? Of companys that say…Hey appear at me! i want to be invested in! appear at me?
In Canada I am paying $9.95 + ecn fees for each stock trade, does your discount broker do better?
My broker charges a flat rate of $9.95 + ECN for any trade up to 1000 shares and $.01/share for every share over 1000.
I want to know if this is really any good, I could not discover a better deal anyplace else in Canada. Also my broker has a good little technical analysis tool that lets me view several classical technical analysis events as they occur. But this is pretty much the only tool they give me. I just want to know if other brokers are offering better stuff out there.
Thank you
